Freelance (Diana Prince-Castle) is is the Amalgam of Marvel Comics' Punisher (Lynn Michaels) and DC Comics' Wonder Woman.
History[]
The Olympian goddesses brought Diana to life from clay on Themyscira in 1967. Diana grew up in constant rivalry with her foster sister, Ororo. The duo of Ororo and Diana fought crime for a while as a team. However, this team broke up after the two were forced to compete in a contest for the Amazonian title of Wonder Woman. Diana was defeated by Ororo using her Metamutant powers of weather manipulation.
As Ororo became the hero of Themyscira, Diana left her native island to explore "Man's World" and find her own life. Assuming the surname of "Prince", Diana served the Wakandan king Bronze Tiger for a while. Travelling to the United States, Diana found the Punisher dying from wounds in the street and saved his life.
Falling in love, the pair became a crime-fighting duo with Diana going by the alias "Freelance" and eventually got married, having a son named Ryan Castiglione together. Though the couple split up, they were eventually reunited as a result of their son's kidnapping by the minions of Thanoseid. Diana then appeared in Baton Rouge, seeking Ororo's help.
Powers and Abilities[]
Freelance has superhuman strength and speed granted by the Greek goddesses. She was trained by the Amazons of Themiscyra in combat techniques and archery.
Freelance wears a pair of indestructible adamantium bracelets given to her by Bronze Tiger that she can use to deflect attacks.
