Miss Atlantis
Miss Atlantis (Namorita "Rita" Dale) is an Amalgam of Marvel Comics' Namorita and DC Comics Miss America.
History[]
When reporting on a museum exhibit, reporter Rita Dale had an odd dream-like vision when standing in front of a statue of Neptune, the Roman god of the sea. Rita hallucinated that the statue came to life and told her she was actually the reincarnation of the ancient Princess Namorita and gave her the powers drawn from the magic of the sunken city of Atlantis. She created a costume and became the superhero known as Miss Atlantis before eventually joining the Freedom Defenders.
Rita later learned that she was actually Namorita, an Atlantean/metamutant hybrid and the Aqua Mariner's cousin. She had been abducted and experimented on by Project O.M.N.I.U.M, who gave her the power to warp molecular structures. Project O.M.N.I.U.M wiped her personality and gave her false memories when they thought their experiment had failed.
Powers and ability[]
Miss Atlantis has wings on her ankles that allow her to fly. She also possesses superhuman strength and the ability to breathe underwater.
Miss Atlantis can cast "spells" that can transmute the molecular structure of matter. Her transmutation power was later revealed to have been given to her by Project O.M.N.I.U.M. and wasn’t based on magic at all.
