Vesper (Cassandra St. Ives) is an Amalgam of Marvel Comics' Nemesis and DC Comics Batgirl (Cassandra Cain).
History[]
Daughter of the assassin David St. Ives, Cassandra was trained to be a killer like her father. She was given a cursed sword that gave her powers but harmed her if she was separated from it. When her father fought Dark Claw, he took a little girl hostage as a human shield. Outraged, Cassandra turned against her father and slew him with her cursed sword. Dark Claw took in Cassandra and she became the hero known as Vesper.
Powers[]
Vesper is a master of martial arts and can read her opponent’s body language and predict their every move in battle.
Vesper wields a cursed sword that absorbs the life force of anyone killed by it, and channels that stolen energy into Vesper. While wielding the sword, Vesper can recover from almost any wound by absorbing the life energy stored in the sword. The sword also allows her to fly. However the curse of the sword causes Vesper to lose her own life energy when she is separated from it.
